[mapguide-users] Databases PostGIS/ ArcSDE / Oracle spatial

We are going to migrate everything into spatial databases, but I wanted
to get some feedback from the group if possible on your experiences with
the different products. We currently have SQL 2005 and I am very
comfortable with it, from what I can tell the only spatial product that
is compatible is 
ArcSDE.  Is that true?  Also, I believe you need to purchase the full
ArcGIS server suite now. 

Secondly how is PostGIS / PostgreSQL? Pro's Con's?  

I develop in .NET so I would like to use SQL 2005 if possible.

If you have long polylines, they may get labeled several times with a
spacing of a few hundred pixels between labels. May be this is what you
are seeing.

Inverted labels should be rare -- only if you have circular or nearly
circular polylines in your layer. Even then the code in 1.2 will try to
avoid that as much as possible. Since labels follow the curve of the
polylines, it can happen that one piece of the label is pointing up
while another is pointing down. Again, I'm just guessing here since you
did not give enough detail.
