[mapguide-users] MGOS 1.2 mgserver.exe

Hi Frank

I convert all the ecw files to tiffs using the fwtools and I don't have
the problem with the mgserver.exe becoming unresponsive. The real
problem seems to occur when mapguide is accessing a group of 123 ecw
files in one directory, the other directories of only 5-10 ecw files
work fine. I created all the image datasets using Jason's
rasterconfig.php tool. Is there any way to capture the ecw errors as
running mgserver in debug mode doesn't return any errors, so I can feed
it into the FDO trac ticket??

Thanks

Kym

Kym,

I wonder if this occurs if you *only* use TIFFs with no ECWs?

I have observed in some situations the ECW library does a poor job
cleaning
up it's threads and this can make applications hang at exit. I wonder
if
this might be the issue.

If we can isolate this issue to ECWs then it might turn out to be an
artifact
of how the ECW SDK is being built from source for use by MapGuide. If
so, we
could look into building against an ECW SDK actually built by ERMapper
which
presumably have such issues resolved properly.

If you can isolate the issue, I'd encourage you to create a Trac ticket
in the
*FDO* Trac (http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo) assigned to me (userid:
warmerdam).

Best regards,
