[mapguide-users] [fussion] Will Fusion meet OpenLayers providerstyle? ( multi-provider client)

Fusion, when it is actually integrated into MapGuide OS, will use  
OpenLayers for managing the map component (in fact we have done this  
in the development version so it will be in the next update).

The initial integration will not expose an API that will allow you to  
work directly with OpenLayers to add custom layer types simply  
because we are on a very tight schedule - some custom hacking should  
enable you to do this, but it won't be supported.  It is planned to  
expand the API to include functions for adding and removing  
OpenLayers layers to the map in the client, meaning you could set up  
a mapguide application and add WMS layers (for instance) on the  
client side without having to modify your MapDefinition.
