thanks for the info Jason
hmmm, DBXML server - got a link to this (vs. file based). was not aware
of licensing restrictions...
if I get anywhere on this, I'll definitely post about it. the current
need is to host the stack in a .Net app but clearly once you get that
done, you could abstract it into a generic mg host (or something like
that)
thanks

Hi Brian,
>From what I can tell, it looks like the majority of MapGuide
functionality has been encapsulated in Autodesk Map 3D, so it should be
possible for you to build a desktop implementation that includes
MapGuide.
If you do, I would be very interested in seeing how you did it, with an
interest (personal, not speaking from PSC perspective) of seeing an
alternate build of a MapGuide desktop development kit. MapGuideObjects?
J
Be aware that if you use the DBXML server (the MapGuide repository)
there are considerable licensing fees involved in making this available
commercially. IMHO, a file-based repository would be more appropriate
for desktop implementation.

hello all
is it possible to host the entire MG server/extensions stack outside of
mgserver.exe? on windows boxes, this is hosted as an NT service, I would
like to move this in-process for a particular application. I'll go take
a look at the source but I was wondering if anyone has seen an example
already
cheers
