[mapguide-users] Test if MapGuide server is running

A couple of lines of API code sending a request to the server to get a Session might be considered a test. You might go as far as sending a request to feature services or resources services returning a simple value. GetFeatureProviders for example from the http://localhost/mapguide/mapagent/index.html pages does just that.

Is there a way to programmatically test if the MapGuide server is running? I
see that calling

mgserver.exe test list

...produces:

All
CoordinateSystem
FeatureService
Geometry
...etc

None of these tests appear to test whether the server is actually running.

I know I can run a script that parses the log file and searches for "Error",
but I am hoping there is some test that already exists.
