[mapguide-users] Allow access to different layers based on login

There is no built-in functionality for login management. I believe that you can elevate permissions using Fusion, but I'm not clear on the details.
Once the user is logged in, you have a couple choices. You could either write some custom code to add extra layers that they have access to into the runtime map definition, or you could just switch them to a different map definition as part of the login procedure. The latter is easier, but if you have a large matrix of users and layers the former is probably worth the effort.
Again, unfortunately, MapGuide has a hissy fit if a user tries to load a map that contains resources that they don't have permissions to. Definitely an area that I'd love to see improvements in, as it would make use cases like yours as simple as managing the login and letting MapGuide deal with the rest.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Allow access to different layers based on login
How can I set MG OS to allow users to log in, but not be forced to?
I need to be able to set this up to serve our maps to the public via the
website, yet allow the feature that someone can log in with a set username
and password and also gain access to specific additional layers (assigned to
their group I guess)
Does this sound possible? Ideally I would like the layers etc to not be
visable in the menu lists if they have not logged in.
