[mapguide-users] trouble connecting mapguide maestro postgis

You guys respond faster than I can check it! Great list!

But... for some reason Test connection does not work anymore only
difference is a restart of my laptop.

Logfile tells me:

Maestro gives the following error:

De externe server heeft een fout geretourneerd: (559) MgFdoException.: 

An exception occurred in FDO component.

Unable to load the FDO Provider: (null) 

Since installing/registering libpq.dll worked yesterday, I've redone
that step... but no cigar... I'm trying to learn GIS for some months
now, but the assumingly last obstacles are very hard to pass....

ieshims.dll and ieframe.dll can be ignored.
There should be no harm in copying the files, but it's not required.

Now that you get that error, it is likely that the error.log contains
extra information:
2.0.2: C:\Program Files\MapGuideOpenSource\Server\Logs\Error.log
2.1: C:\Program Files\OSGeo\MapGuide\Server\Logs\Error.log

The MgConnectionFailedException usually means that the MapGuide service
has stopped.

Been strugling along. Depend.exe told libpq.dll could not be opened. I
googled for it, followed instructions and installed it. Now when I press
test connections, it will not give me errors...seems like progress!

I saved the data connection and tried to connect a layer. Maestro tells
me:
Failed to read schema from data source.
The operation gave the error message: De externe server heeft een fout
geretourneerd (Dutch for the external server returned an error): (559)
MgConnectionFailedException.: Cannot establish connection. 

Depend.exe also says it cannot open ieshims.dll so I just copied it (is
that ok) to the FDO folder. 
Now it only says Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import
due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
It also shows a hourglass and some kind of red grid on an icon for the
file ieframe.dll

try running depends.exe (google it) on the  postgis fdo provider dll

sounds like the required postgres dll's are being found
