On the original dwg file, what font is used for text? One of the
original ???.shx fonts that were optimized for ancient pen plotters or a
???.ttf modern font that has some fill and girth to it?
Any chance for samples of the original dwg and dwf or at least screen
shots of each?

The text is actually text in autocad. There are also other layers to
that
use text (dims for example) that also look extremely poor. The font is
embedded in the Autocad file, and is running locally on the XP machine I
would assume. I didn't think dwf's would require that text file since
all
they really are is a snap shot image of the DWG itself which is more
like a
pdf file of sorts.
