I find that really odd. Could you convert the SDF to SHP using Fdo2Fdo and see what happens? I'm curious if you can remove the Has Elevation. I can't believe that only the Has Elevation would cause this, but anything is possible.

Thanks for the continued help Dave,

I have compared the 2 xml files and there were a couple of small differences
so I amended the sdf file to be the same as the dwg to be the same (apart
from name and geometry) but it still gives me the same problem.

The only thing that is different now is the geometry - could this be causing
the problem?

Below is the geometric properties of the dwg:
Property Name  Geometry 
Property Type  point curve surface  
Has Measures  false 
Has Elevation  false 

Below is the geometric properties of the sfd:
Property Name  Geom 
Property Type  point curve surface 
Has Measures  false 
Has Elevation  true 

Any other thoughts?

I can't believe I'm the only person seeing this happen??
