It's been a while since I've used the Maestro interface, but you have to set the X/Y columns to be your geometry columns somehow.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Re: An exception occurred in FDO component

Hi,

I want to link an Access table as the data source of layer. I want to use
the database rather than SHP file because I want to realize when I update
the database, the updated information can be show on the map. (Such as added
a point on website, all information as well as the coordinates is saved in
database.)

The table structure contains the attribute of
ID, X,Y, Type, and Location. only this one table right now.

I can successfully link to the shp file and got map layers well. Because of
the data synchronization I want to change it link to database directly but
not sure it's useful.

The error message shows:" An exception occurred in FDO component. Property
'Geometry' from class 'Default:test1' has no database mapping "

Thank you all.
