Hi Anil,

The "building" guide for CentOS 5.4 http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/CompilingMapGuide22Centos54 lists all of the CentOS packages required to build and run MapGuide.  You will probably need the "lib" versions of lines two and three:

yum install libjpeg libpng fontconfig freetype
yum install libxml2 expat curl libxslt openldap

There is also an RC1 binary build for CentOS 5.4(+) posted on OSGeo http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/releases/2.2.0/RC1/mapguideopensource-2.2.0.5197-centos5.tar.gz
