Hi All,

I am happy to announce the first beta release of MapGuide Maestro 4.0

NSIS installer:
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/maestro/MapGuideMaestro-Release-4.0b1-Setup.exe

Zip package:
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/maestro/MapGuideMaestro-4.0b1-Release.zip

This first beta features 2 revolutionary new features:

 1. New Local Connection mode, backed by the previously announced mg-desktop
library. This feature is available only on windows. The zip package does not
include this functionality. The installer size has unfortunately inflated to
84mb as a result to accomodate this new feature (most of the bloat is due to
the full set of CS-Map coordinate system dictionaries bundled in). Also note
that the FDO bundled with mg-desktop is a recent build from trunk and that
only a subset of the FDO providers is included, due to my inability to build
certain FDO providers (eg. ArcSDE)

 2. Support for connecting to multiple sites. There is support for
cut/copy/paste and drag/drop between different connections. The existing
resource migration functionality still exists, but will not be actively
supported since multi-site support effectively supercedes this feature.

Because of the yet-to-be-fully-stable nature of the new multiple-site
feature, I am going to slap a big warning here:

HERE BE DRAGONS! THIS BUILD SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR TESTING PURPOSES AND
FEEDBACK. DO NOT USE THIS ON PRODUCTION MAPGUIDE SERVERS!

As always, this beta can sit side-by-side with previous releases of Maestro.

The local mode connection should not conflict or clash with any local
installations of MapGuide Open Source / AIMS as everything used by
mg-desktop (MG/FDO dlls, CS-Map) is self-contained.
