[mapguide-users] Appending selections without SHIFT-Click

Assuming you're talking about the AJAX viewer, selection appending behavior
is controlled by the "appending" variable in ajaxmappane.templ and this
variable is set to true on mouse down if the shift key is pressed.

So if you want a non-shift key method of toggling appending, just set this
variable to true before selecting and (optionally) set it back to false once
the new selection has been updated
