If this is a WMS feature source with a configuration document, then you are
disregarding how MapGuide/FDO should be interpreting the structure of the
feature source, because you're now telling it to interpret the structure as
defined in your WMS configuration document.

So in this sense, if the Maestro UI is allowing you to put duplicate wms
layer names into the WMS configuration document then yeah it's most likely a
bug.
