[mapguide-users] Using MG_DATA_PATH_ALIAS

Necro'ing a 3 year old post because I want to get the low-down on aliases in
configuration documents.

I have conflicting reports about whether configuration documents with
aliases will actually work or not.

The comments in (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/1664) say that
aliases in configuration documents will be properly substituted.

But my own testing has said otherwise.

I have the fix on hand (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/2433), but I'd
like the fully story from those that have said that this actually worked,
because something just doesn't check out.
