Thanks for your detailed explanations, Jackie!

For item 2: so there isn't any chance to configure the rest extension to
have the cache folder in a different location outside the MapGuide
Installation path. Is this corret? I ask, because we have made the
experience that our customers always want to store their data at least on a
different drive.
