I have copied the FDO from AIMS 2015 to MGOS 3 Preview (64bit) on windows 8.1
and it worked great with MR SID files.

Again, I am not sure about the legality of this.  

The best solution is to wait for MapGuide to be built with a newer version
of GDAL.  1.11 or higher so that we can use ECW and MR SID

I have recently asked Tamas at GISINTERNALS if there would be a build of
GDAL 1.10 with MSVC2012 but I have not heard back yet.
