[mapguide-users] What is left before MGOS 4.0 RC1

Hi All,

One last update.

Something had regressed in our new .net bindings where it used to work on
Linux (something I blogged about years ago:
https://themapguyde.blogspot.com/2018/07/introducing-new-experimental-bindings.html)
but my current attempts to get a sample asp.net core app using these
bindings to work on Linux have failed. I have deduced it to be something
around passing strings from .net that used to work, but is now scrambling
the first few characters for the C++ string that means something
fundamental as initializing the web tier with a path to webconfig.ini will
fail because the first few characters of that webconfig.ini path get
scrambled.

Experimental Linux support for the .net bindings was one of the features I
had hoped to showcase for 4.0, but in light of this roadblock I am giving
myself another week to try and solve it (I have a few ideas to try). If
nothing pans out, then this experimental Linux support for the .net
bindings will be parked for a future release and RC1 will be released.

So one way or another, RC1 will be released sometime next week.

- Jackie
