Jason,
From mapserver experience, I know that there are some developers
(who are committers even) who prefer not to go through the
bureaucratic nausea of the RFC process to implement something.
I won't argue further against this point, but I really feel that it
is both unnecessary and unnecessarily daunting.
I'm -0 on this :)
