Configuring Apache

I have installed Mapguide and all necessary applications including
Apache on my Linux system with their default settings. I have been
following the documentation exactly. When I test the Url
http://localhost:8008 the Apache test page comes up like it should,
however when I try any of the mapguide test pages such as
http://localhost:8008/mapguide/index.html I get a URL not found page.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the config files and Aliases
but I don't know what changes need to be made. Please help.
