[MapProxy] Too many open files

Hello,

I have a mapproxy install with a couple hundred separate layers. I am using
sqlite for storage. I am deployed using gunicorn. Over time, the
gunicorn/mapproxy process opens most of the sqlite files and apparently
never closes them, eventually throwing "Too many open files" errors that
require a mapproxy restart.

Obviously I don't want to have to monitor for that and restart it. I can
increase the number of open files to a very large number and it appears to
go away but I'm afraid that's a temporary solution.

Any advice?
