[MapProxy] Calculating geometry of a tile

Hi

Just wondering whether there is already a tool to take a wmts or tms URL (e.g. from a log file) and derive a geometry of it's outline.

I realise that mapproxy is doing exactly this in creating outbound wms calls and so I could quickly adjust things to log a derived call but wondered if there was a simpler option/tool or part of the python code in mapproxy that anyone can recommend I start with.
