[MapProxy] PNG Compression?

Is there a way to have a source serve up compressed PNG imagery from
another source?

I have an external WMTS service that is providing standard PNGs which I
store as a MapProxy cache.

I would like to provide a low-bandwidth version of that cache ideally
serving up PNG 32 imagery.
