Quoting Frank on that second wiki page:

One example that springs to mind is the campus map of the University of 
Minnesota. I got hopelessly lost when I used it to walk from downtown 
Minneapolis to the campus last year. Why on earth did they put the south 
on top? And even worse, why didn't they put a North arrow on it? I would 
never have expected this of a map coming out of the U of M :-)
