IS there an SDE analyse application for shape files?

Hello everyone,

I thought I would post this question here verses the mapserver users group as I see quite a bit of SDE emails lately.

So the question is this:

IS there an SDE analyse application / script for shape files that will detect the validity of shape file features and report any errors before the shape file is committed to the SDE?
