I would leave it NEW - but then I really would mean I am ignoring it.  :-)

Well, we know that not many of are "required" to do anything.  I certainly
go through phases when I don't spend any time on MapServer related work
because I am very busy on non-MapServer issues.

I think you got fuzzy feedback from several people which could be
summarized as:
  o There are a few things we want to get done (ie. fastcgi, oracle rewrite)
  o A release relatively soon is important.

But there was a certain amount of fuzziness on when we would go to feature
freeze.  What additional feedback were you looking for?  Do you have a
particular proposed schedule you would like to present?

I think Steve also accepted that you would be release manager for 4.4, and
no one spoke against it.  So in the greatest tradition of OGC meetings
(is there any objection to unanimous consent?) ... I think you should now
declare your release manager.

We aren't a community prone to real voting.  Perhaps we need to improve in
this regard.
