Which version of SWIG for 4.8.0 wrappers?

That was off the top of my head, you're right it's 1.3.21. I've been using 1.3.27 at home and at the DNR but only for Perl (which was probably the most stable) without issues. Have you (or others) exprienced problems with the other bindings with the latest versions? Any reason not to bump the SWIG on the cvs box?

1.3.0? I'm pretty sure you have been using at least 1.3.21. The  
current release is 1.3.27, and it emits rather different code than  
1.3.21. I think most significant changes happened around 1.3.25.
