PostGIS 1.0 support

I finally have a patch for mappostgis.c to allow support for
PostGIS1.0.  I've tested it against 4.4.1 and all is well, but I'm
having trouble getting head to compile on my test machine.  The next
PostGIS1.0 release candidate is waiting on me, so I was wondering if it
would be appropriate to commit to 4.4.1 and get the candidate out while
I resolve my issues.  Any thought or reservations?
