AGG update and possible breakage

I've commited the changes in r6476
feedback is welcome as soon as soon as frankW sorts out a few
autoconf/configure issues for linking with freetype.

bugs I am aware of:
vector symbols are read with inversed coordinates... just saw this when
writing the docs
truetype polygon fills and line symbolisation aren't implemented yet
legend and scalebar rendering are ugly....
