error with msencrypt

Dear developers,

it try to use the command line utility 'msencrypt' to encrypt the
connection string/password of a postgis layer.

I use the guidance Daniel gave us in his report about completion RFC-18
I execute the following steps but i get an error message.

msencrypt  -keygen mykey.txt
msencrypt -key mykey.txt "postgres"

msencrypt: mapcrypto.c:331: msEncryptStringWithKey: Assertion
`sizeof(unsigned long) == 4' failed.

Do you have any idea what is going wrong?
I tried the latest stable version 4.10.2 .
