I think the contest has been tried, IIRC.  I think a well-colored version (let's use this opportunity to get a color scheme and do the website with it) of this one will be perfect.  It looks a tiny bit like Mapufacture's, but not quite, and it would make an excellent favicon as well as header for the site.
