The OGC filter specs allow (or require?) for setting an SRS in certain parts of a filter. So what I was referring to is how to support that. As it sits now I'd just suggest allowing a syntax like fromText(WKT, EPSG code) or something along those lines...

One more question: how do projections affect this proposal?  (from RFC: 
"how to handle projections?")   Do you mean how to parse the PROJECTION 
object string?  I'm just curious about this.
