Devs,
We have what I believe is a blocking regression related to string
escaping that affects at least SLD handling, brought up in issue
https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver/issues/4412 (that contains a
testcase where this can be reproduced) but related to (from what I can
grok) https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver/issues/3983 and
https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver/issues/3929#issuecomment-7548964
.

I propose that we delay our next beta until this issue is fixed (by
whom? Alan?). This isn't an area I'm very familiar with, so please
chime in :)
