[mapserver-dev] Layer status

In MapScript? If so, what flavor? Nothing should have changed in this regard even if you were back in MapServer 5.x.

            I am upgrading my mapserver from lower version to 7.0.
I am facing a problem in detecting whether a layer is currently opened or not.
I actually want to know "How to check whether a layer is currently opened or not."
Any help in this direction will be appreciated.
