Great photos in that link!
The https://x.com/mapserver_osgeo account currently has 1,132 followers, with the last post in 2022.
https://bird.makeup/users/mapserver_osgeo seems to be some sort of bridge between X and the Fediverse, but only has 2 followers as far as I can tell.
It would be good to have an official Fediverse account, at a minimum, to post about new releases (there's probably a GitHub Action for that)..
I'm not sure what instance would be best to set it up on. @mastodon.social was the first one that worked for me (so it could be @mapserver at fosstodon.org), but OSGeo is at @osgeo at fosstodon.org
Even - how do you manage https://mastodon.social/@gdal are there several PSC members who have access/post?

Our website still mentions a Twitter/X account. Do we still want to "promote" that somewhat questionable platform... ? (I'm not even able to see what's going on it, having killed my own account). Not that I'm volunteering to be the manager of a fediverse MapServer account, but that might be a good idea to have one to show we are still there and proud ;-)
