[MapServer-dev] Motion: Submit OSGeo Budget Request for 2025

Hi all,

Back in January a request was sent to the OSGeo board for a MapServer budget of $5000. In the end $2000 was approved - see https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OSGeo_Budget_2025#OSGeo_Projects

I have updated the completed items and new budget at https://github.com/MapServer/MapServer/wiki/MapServer-2025-Budget. 

Completed:

- Contribution to Release manager role support - MapServer 8.6
- Contribution to MapServer Workshop - materials preparation and costs towards presenting at FOSS4G Europe 2025

In regard to Contribution to Emergency operations looking at security issues, there were no issues closed/raised in 2025 (but I may have missed something) - https://github.com/MapServer/MapServer-private/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aclosed

Steve/Mike - I presume there were no sponsorship payments to the MapServer project this year that make up the $500 shortfall? Unfortunately, various grant requests to European sponsorship programs were unsuccessful this year. 
We could proportionally reduce the funds for the two completed items, but as I am involved, I'd rather the other PSC members decide. 

We should also start thinking about the budget for 2026,
