Generalizing shapefiles...

Greetings: In case anyone is interested I ported the shapefile generalization Avenue
script (Douglas-Peuckert Algorithm) hat comes with ArcView to MapScript. It's little 
slower, but then again it's free. On test coverages I've processed it produces the 
exact same output as the Avenue version. I need to add a progress meter, but that's 
about it. It requires version 3.3.010.

I hope someone will find it useful.
