join dbf item

Dear Steve and Co.,

we have an application that
we need to get attribute saved
in external dbf by using 'link'
or 'join' item.

Is is possible to do 'joinitem'
on-the-fly.

I've just seen that you can
query 'joined item' during
querying.


Could you pls help us.
