You use a STYLE object within a symbol to define a dash pattern. Here's
a scalable dashed line.

SYMBOL
  NAME 'dashed1'
  TYPE ELLIPSE
  POINTS 1 1 END
  FILLED
  STYLE 10 5 5 10 END # 10 pixels on, 5 off, 5 on, 10 off 
END

Before the change in symbology functionality, you
could use a STYLED line symbol to create a dashed
line.  How do you get a dashed line with the new
symbology functionality?
