[mapserver-users] Layer description in template file

In 3.4 and lower versions the [layername_desc] is available as a replacement only if the
layer has been explicitly turned on. Otherwise it gets a blank string. The reasoning is that
this was used as a way to provide alternate titles and such in an interface based on what
is actually display. If a layer is off then we don't want to see the infomation. Note that default
layers are not explictly on (i.e. the user didn't choose them) and display with a blank string.

In 3.5 description goes away in favor of a generic metadata object that is much more flexible.

Hi,

Anyone knows how to get the description of a layer in the template?
[layername_desc] seems to be replaced with an empty string.
