There are the very simple examples that come with the source code in
mapserver/mapscript/php3/examples ... and the next step up is the GMap
demo applcation.  Unfortunately there is nothing intermediate publicly
available.  You can download the GMap demo and data from
http://www2.dmsolutions.ca/mapserver/dl/gmap-ms35-20010726.tar.gz

There is also a tutorial that was started by Vinko V.  I don't think
it's complete yet, but you may want to have a look:

I wonder if there is a more complete version available somewhere else...
maybe Vinko can comment on that.
