Yep on OS X, pretty much all Unix tools get compiled with
flat_namespace. I really don't understand it. (For anyone who is
curious, fink.sourceforge.net has all the gory details, including
all the libtool madness on OS X. See
http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/porting/porting.html )

I have verified that my Perl itself, mapscript module and DBD::Pg
were all compiled with flat_namespace.
So I have no clue. I'm going to take this question to the
macosx at perl.org since it does seem like a likely place to ask.
