[mapserver-users] Selected Attributes

Hi List

I have a flaw in my method:

My html page has two frames.

The left frame is my template.

The user chooses a query layer and clicks.

When the template is returned from
  mapserver, a javascript routine
  sets the src of the right frame
  to an asp page with the attributes
  of the selected feature.

The asp displays the attributes
  in a nice table.

Same map.  No separate query map.

My Problem:

Each and every field of all the many layers 
  must be written in to the template file
  so a javascript can create an array
  that gets sent to the asp.

So much typing.  It's sloppy.  Ugly.

Is there a better way?
