I think Andrew Hallam's idea of a lib or servlet external to MapServer is
a good one and would like to pursue it with him and other interested
parties.  It could be considered as a proof of concept for functionality
we'd like to see someday moved into MapServer proper and help us separate
the sheep from the goats.

Should a discussion about those developments move even further away from
mapserver-users to a *unofficial* list or can you handle that kind of
chatter on mapserver-dev?
