If you're interested in using your OWN WMS servers with your own ArcGIS
installation(s), you can try using the ArcIMS emulator provided by
Refractions at :
http://postgis.refractions.net/download.php
<http://postgis.refractions.net/download.php>
(Bottom left, imsemu)
This will make your UMN MapServer WMS behave like a really basic ArcIMS
server so that you can use with within ArcDesktop.
Ed, I beleive is also working on something along those lines ...
If however you just want to give your ArcGIS the ability to read any old WMS
Server, as Ed mentionned, you won't be able to ...
Could this functionality be achieved using ArcObjects ???? Hmmmm ...

Ed,
Oh - so I guess I missed the boat on this one. I thought that ArcGIS would
read OpenGIS WMS compliant services. Not so?

Dave -
Excellent idea! All you have to do is persuade ESRI to support WMS servers
in their ArcGIS clients (or any other clients, for that matter <g>).

Ed,
I guess that is a bit broad on re-read...
Basically I would like to be able to provide a WMS Service (using Mapserver)
to ArcGIS clients.

That's kind of a broad question <g>. What exactly are you looking to do?

List,
I am about to begin exploring this WMS / ArcGIS arena. Has anyone had any
