OH.... I'm so close!
Thanks to several listers, I've gotten ALMOST where I need to be. If someone
could help me with the lsat few feet of alignment, I'll be set.
To summarize, I've gotten (almost) all of my data sourced from ArcView
Streetmaps, converted to shapefiles. I added the following lines to the
beginning of my shapefile:
PROJECTION
"proj=latlong"
"ellps=clrk66"
#datum=NAD83 # NEITHER OF THESE COMMENTED LINES CHANGE
# "ellps=GRS80" # ANYTHING FROM THE ellps=clrk66 DEFINITION
"lon_0=0"
"x_0=0"
"y_0=0"
END
I have no other projection information included with regard to the DD data.
I then included Wetlands polygons from the Fish and Wildlife Service. Within
that layer, I included the following projection definitions:
PROJECTION
"proj=utm"
"ellps=GRS80"
# datum=NAD83
"zone=18"
"north"
"no_defs"
END
These definitions I got from the associated .prj files.
Everything renders (Mapserver doesn't die), but the wetlands layer is shifted
about (best guess) 100' east-southeast. (See the attached image. The water is
overlapping Shore Road.)
I've tried changing datums, ellps names, etc,. between the two projection
definitions with no luck. Can anyone tell me why I can't get these layers to
line-up?
Additionally, I need some help in regular expressions in CLASSITEM. I want to
render all polygons EXCEPT for one type (Attribute = U). If I wanted to show
these, I'd say EXPRESSION /^U/. How would I say NOT the letter U?
