Hello,

Ok..  maybe I posted to quickly.  I tried adding single quotes around my qstring value and it worked fine:
...mapserv?mode=itemquerymap&qlayer=mapsheet_textquery&qitem=Sheet&qstring='31f'&mapext=shapes
