Hi,
=20
I am currently trying to connect to MapServer via a Java Servlet, I am
hoping to use Java MapScript.
=20
For me to test the Java MapScript does anyone know of a site with this
and the windows dll compiled for MapServer 4.0?
=20
As at present I can=92t find a precompiled Java version of MapServer 4.0
to test with I am trying to compile MapServer with the Java support. Up
until now I have used the CGI precompiled win32 version for testing.
=20
To start with I am trying to compile all of the libraries etc...
=20
I think I am getting somewhere; this open Source project set-up is a
very steep learning curve, which doesn't help as I'm new to Unix/Linux
and C++.
=20
I have compiled gdal-1.1.9 with ECW support, this all seemed fine, I
have yet to find out if this works.
=20
I am now trying to compile gd-2.0.15(with gif) from HYPERLINK
"http://downloads.rhyme.com.au/gd/"http://downloads.rhyme.com.au/gd/ . I
also want to add PNG to give more flexibility in the future so I have
downloaded and compiled zlib and libpng, the question I have is using
cygwin I run ./configure --with-png=3Dlibpng with the dir libpng having =
an
include (with png.h) dir and a lib (with libpng13.lib) dir in the gd
dir. I get the following from the configure:
=20
checking for libpng-config... no
checking png.h usability... yes
checking png.h presence... yes
checking for png.h... yes
checking for png_create_read_struct in -lpng... no
configure: WARNING: libpng is required - see HYPERLINK
"http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/"http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/ checking
for freetype-config... no checking for FT_Init_FreeType in -lfreetype...
no
configure: WARNING: not found - disabling freetype support checking
freetype/freetype.h usability... no checking freetype/freetype.h
presence... no checking for freetype/freetype.h... no checking for
jpeg_set_defaults in -ljpeg... no checking for XpmReadFileToXpmImage in
-lXpm... no
=20
** Configuration summary for gd 2.0.15:
=20
   Support for PNG library: no
   Support for JPEG library: no
Support for Freetype 2.x library: no
   Support for Xpm library: no
=20
It seems to be finding the png.h, but is having problems with
png_create_read_struct.
=20
Any help or ideas would be greatfully received as I feel like I am out
of my depth at the moment.
=20
Thanks in advance.
=20
Phil Maskell.
