[Mapserver-users] symbols within my legend

I am working on my first MapServer application and have some basic question.  I have got a map up with 3 layers.  1) the symbols for my layers are not showing up within my legend.  The text is fine but the symbols are blank.  2) the bounding box for my reference (overview) window is way off.  When I am zoomed to full extent in the map, the reference box is a small box in the northern part of the reference image.   3)  eventually I would like to have a text box where the user would be able to enter text and search for a record, then zoom to that record.  Any one have some examples of this.  As well as the basic answers to my other questions?   Thanks in advance
