Population density of major cities

Hi there,

can anyone indicate me where I can find a global GIS point layer with the
population density of major cities, i.e. the five biggest of every country?
I know that there is the NEMA sheet - georeferenced - with a bunch of
cities. But it doesn't have any indication of their population.
